Job Redundancy - Does It Happen Only During Bad Times?


Just what is job redundancy?

Does it happen only during bad times? Or they are prevalent even during good times, and that redundant employees are actually allowed, or required?

Reminds me of Sony's story many, many years ago, when, coming across a big business opportunity, the leader just saw the days after that, and said 'No.'

"What will I do with all the people that I will need to cater to this surge," said the man, "when the volume is no longer there?"

"The laborers are still around, but there is no more work to do..."

Boy, that is no longer the norm today.
